At 9:28 a.m. on July 4, 2012, in Zhejiang Zhuangji Ship Industry Co., Ltd., an 82,000-ton bulk carrier was successfully launched using airbag launching technology, which once again broke the record of airbag launching.
The ship is 229 meters in length, 32.26 meters in molded width, 20.05 meters in molded depth, with a design draft of 11.3 meters and a launching weight of more than 13,000 tons. Shandong Changlin Ship Airbag and Ball Leaning Technology Research Center undertook the scheme design and launching operation of the ship. According to the scale characteristics of this type of ship, the scheme design modified the existing 50,000-ton berth, calculated the technical parameters of traction force and airbag bearing capacity, and formulated a detailed launching process plan. More than 90 multi-specification and high-strength special airbags produced by Jinan Changlin Airbag Container Factory Co., Ltd. were used, and a strict and scientific launching process plan was formulated to ensure the safe and smooth launching of this type of ship. The smooth launch of this type of ship has once again set a record for the deadweight tonnage of airbag launching for cargo ships, and also marks a new breakthrough in the field of airbag launching technology for ships.
