At 12:18 noon on July 7, 2012, at Fujian Huadong Shipyard Co., Ltd., a 53,000-ton bulk carrier was successfully launched using ship airbag launching technology.
The ship is 192 meters long, 30 meters wide, and has a launching weight of more than 10,000 tons. Jinan Changlin Airbag Container Factory Co., Ltd. undertook the scheme design and launching operation of the ship. In view of the characteristics of large changes in bow and stern alignment and excessive weight concentration of this type of ship, the scheme design has carried out detailed demonstrations on the slope parameters of the existing slipway and the traction ground cattle foundation, and formulated practical and effective remedial measures. Using 60 large-scale and high-strength special airbags produced by Jinan Changlin Airbag Container Factory Co., Ltd., a strict and scientific launching process plan has been formulated to ensure the safe and smooth launching of this type of ship.
